If these are Word or Excel files, there's a variety of linux app's that could open and run them for you. Open Office, Kword, Kspread, Abiword and Gnumeric can open Word and Excel files. What is it that you need? I'm still trying to figure out how to run wine myself, but some one here ought to be able to help.

The web cam software....50/50 whether it will work. You should be able to get powerpoint to work though using crossover office, although there are linux apps that open ppt files; KPresenter and OpenOffice Impress for a start...much more stable than using wine.

You'll find that you can't run all windoze programs under wine. CodeWeavers keep a database on www.winehq.com of [non]compatible programs. What programs are you trying to install? Are you using crossover office or plugin?

You can get it to go using CodeWeavers CrossOver Office but it is still a little shaky....it does pretty much work though.

I've used winex... and so far I can run Age of Empires II, Spiderman, Madden NFL 2002, Winamp, among others... you may want to try this for a small fee ($5 a month for three months)... or there are other ways of getting this....................
