copy file from cdrom

i am using Redhat 7.2 and KDE window manager. I have mounted my cdrom..but I can't copy file from the cdrom to my harddisk. I can't do it even if i am root. It keeps saying Input/Output error...plx help

believe it - there is probably a "bad spot"
try sum "file" on some of the files on the cd. If most have no i/o error, get another cd

What do you mean? You mean nth can be done to fix it? well, I can't copy any files from any of my cd...these include vcd, some cdr with files and such and such....

well..... I spot the problem just now... it seems that I can't cp big size files from the cdrom to HD...for small files...it's fine... Why is that?
