Your best bet in this case would be to use a program like Partition Magic to format your HDD.

Unfortunately, formatting your drive will cause you to lose all the files on there. I don't know what or how many other HDDs you have, but you should back your Windows files up before you do anything.

Hope this helps.

Windows 2000 has a non-destructive drive converter program. The command to do FAT->NTFS for c: is "convert c: /fs:ntfs". I'm not sure if it'll do NTFS->FAT, however.

afraid u are up the creek. ntfs is a one way street that's why i don't use it, other than for ms oss is pretty useless. you'll probably have to do a fat32 reinstall, i've tried it with part. magic 7 and no cando don't know about pm 8. good luck

Use Partition Magic 80 in dos mode to convert ntfs to fat32

you will not lose any data
I know because I have done it
But if you or runing windows nt40 then do not convert to fat32 because windows nt40 can not read fat32 file system.

you can convert FAT system to NTFS by using
convert c:\fs:ntfs . but you cant convert NTFS to FAT32 because NTFS file system provide file level security which FAT system cannot provide.or we can say NTFS is upgraded version therefore it cannot change to lower version file system.

Linux can write to NTFS. You have to pre-compile the kernel.
