I've recently installed Mandrake 7.0 and have the following problem.
During the install I configure X and can see the test message. Everything seems to be fine. After the install has finished I start x and although KDE runs fine, my mouse pointer is a large (2.5cm x 2.5cm) square.
I have tried running Xconfigurator and changing the settings but nothing seems to resolve the problem.
