Config Linux to use Netgear RT314 and AT

I have a my W2K boxes setup using a Netgear RT314 router to access the net over ATT @home cable connection. I would like to setup my Linux RH 7.0 to do the same but have had no luck. I would like to set the networking up manually to access the router for access to the network, but have had no luck struggling with this for weeks. I am just hoping someone can help me out on this one.
