Compiling for gnome

OS: Red Hat 9
CPU/Ram: Ahtlon XP 2400, 500mb

./configure was made and the following error keeps appearing.

Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gnet.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'gnet' found

configure: error: Library requirements (libglade-2.0 >= 2.0.0
libgnomeui-2.0 >= 2.0.0
gnet >= 1.1.3
libxml-2.0 >= 2.4.7) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

I downloaded their rpms but still get the error. Need some help.

This won't be any help but that reminds me of my Mandrake days. Endless headaches with RPMs. If you like to compile things (especially something as big as GNOME) then I really recommend you switch to Gentoo.
