I'm trying to install Storm Linux and ran out of room on a 1.7GB Fujitsu drive. I also have a Seagate 431MB drive. I'd like to connect both drives to an ISA card and cluster them for a single partition. Can this be done with Linux? Heck, can it be done with Windows? I have the Linux CD from an old magazine I picked up about a year or two ago.
Linux supports software RAID. You probably want to get a newer version, though, because software RAID is a pain to set up manually. RedHat now has RAID options in their disk partitioning wizzard, which makes it really easy.
A better solution would be to put / on the 431, then /usr/, /home, swap, etc. on the larger drive. If / doesn't fit on the 431, play around a little and find out what would work best.
Sounds good. I'll get a larger drive, install some version of Linux and test the RAID capabilities. I'll post back with the results...if anyone is interested.
