Hi,
I try to set up a client Linux Redhat 8.0 that use Windows 2000Printer Server. I use Printer Configuration Tool under RH8.0.
- With Windows 2000 Printer Server, I shared Printer for everyone- With RH 8.0: I establish following parameters:
Share: //HS-SERVER03/HPLaserJ (name of printer was shared)
User: tthai
Host IP: 192.168.61.5
Password: ********
Workgroup: HSand checked at: Translate \n=>\r\n
After that, I choose driver is: HP LaserJet 1100 ljet4(*)
(This driver is my printer driver).
And then, I try printing a test page. It's OK! but the content of testpage is not true. All of it are hex code.
Help me!
Thanks!

Sounds as though you may be trying to print postscript and the server only has PCL drivers.
Try installing another shared printer on the server (HPLinux as a possible name?) and make sure that you use the PS drivers.
Alternatively, if the printer is plugged directly into the LAN (eg via a jet dirct box as opposed to hanging off the back of a machine and shared), you could try printing directly to the IP instead of going through the Windoze server.
