clearing cache

OS: redhat 8.0
CPU/Ram: 550/128
Comment:

when typing commands at the command prompt they are saved, so to speak. I can then use my up arrow on the keyboard to access these commands again without retyping them...my question is how do I clear this cache of saved commands?

Assuming that you're using BASH, Just remove the file ~/.bash_history:

rm -f ~/.bash_history
