I am merely looking for suggestions and/or recomendations for distros to use. I am a new linux user and any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mandrake gets my vote. Very easy to install.

I am very new to Linux. I have tried Mandrake, and it was OK. I just installed Fedora this afternoon to try it. I must say that Fedora is very impressive and the Linux O/S I am going to use.

I have to say as a first Distro Mandrake is great! I use Red Hat 9 and Mandrake. Very happy with both of them. Mandrake was easier to install and configure. Red Hat was my first Distro which I installed around 3 mos ago (a newbie) and is has not crashed yet. Runs 24/7... I installed mandrake on a system that has a firewire external dvd writer amongst other hardware and everything installed and configured correctly. I have to say that the install was easier then Windoze.
