Changing default Window Manager

OS: Mandrake 8.2
CPU/Ram: Athlon XP 1800+/256MB PC2

I was wondering how to get an account i set up with gnome as default to run kde when i type startx under Mandrake 8.2. any help will be appreciated(sp?).

When you run startx from the console it references ~/.xinitrc in your home directory.

Comment out the 'exec gnome-session' line, with a '#', ie #exec gnome-session' if present and create a new line as 'exec startkde'

New when you 'startx' KDE should come up.

I did an ls -a inside of my home directory and i didn't see a .xinitrc, does it reside somewhere else in MAndrake 8.2?

Just create the file then using a text editor.
