I have two hard drives with Linux Redhat 7.2 on one drive and Windows XP on the other that operates fine with no issues. The system boots from the Linux drive with GRUB. I want to change the configuration by removing the Linux operating system and using that hard drive as a second Windows XP drive without corrupting or having to re-install the current XP hard drive. One issue I believe I will have is the MBR. I believe this needs to be added to the XP drive if I uninstall or re-format the Linux drive. How can I remove the Linux operating system from the one hard drive without impacting the current XP hard drive (as well as being able to boot XP without the Linux drive). Will fixmbr add an mbr to my windows XP hard drive without having to reload or wipe out the data that currently resides on the XP drive?

Use something like partition magic
delete linux data and linux swap partition.
if you have a windows (fat, fat32 or ntfs) on the same drive just resize it to eat up the new free space. (danger, DO NOT turn off your computer during operation!!)
if your disk was dedicated to linux you'll have to create a fat32 or ntfs (or fat16 if it's very very small) partition.
All of this should not affect MBR. After you reboot windows is gonna say that it found new hardware or something stupid like that and you'll have to re-boot for nothing...

oh yeah, before you do anything from windows "cmd" type
fdisk /mbr
'cause if you don't lilo is gonna freak when it's gonna see linux partition is not there....

If you screw up you can always insert the xp cd and do a repair which will restore your xp system but one question why remove Linux and not XP?
