My cdrom drive doesn't work, I get an error "mount: /dev/cdrom in not volid black device" when I did 'dmesg' it showed that cdrom drive is not present. CDROM works fine under Windows. Please HELP!

Run 'man MAKEDEV'. I think the manpage tells you how to create /dev/cdrom. It should be something like '/dev/MAKEDEV cdrom'.

Well my CDROM is detected now, but I'm still getting the error 'mount: /dev/cdrom is not volid block device' when ever I try to mount it. I get the same error when I use 'mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom'
