CD drive not mounted during install

Comment:
I'm attempting to install SUSE 8.0 on my slave HD as a floppy bootable OS. Just before setup begins copying all files from CD1 (after the TOSHIBA DVD-ROM has been mounted and some preliminary files have been copied) I get this message: please insert CD1.
after clicking OK, the message is: could not mount source medium. Mount: dev/hdc already mounted or /var/adm/mount busy mount: according to mtab /dev/hdc is already mounted on /var/adm/mount
If anyone could help me make sense of this, I would really appreciate it. It doesn't make sense because some files were being read from the CD earlier in the install process. Perhaps the CD is flawed as it is a copy??
