Hi folks,

My FC2 box can ping IP address but fails to ping URL.

This box was formerly connected to broadband via ADSL modem. Now the latter has been removed and changed to 56K modem.

Please advise where I have to check. TIA.

Obviously your DNS settings are not correct. Your probably just doing DHCP so they should be updating and getting the info from your ISP. Ensure that in your connection setup you have the box checked that says to obtain your DNS settings from your provider. If those are i would contact your ISP and ask as to why your DNS settings are not comming from the ISP.

Hi Chris,

Tks for your advice.

Problem solved after adding nameserver <IP address> to /etc/resolv.conf
