Hi

I am struck at installing redhat 8.0, when the screen comes on which media to install redhat from I don’t get options to install from DVD-ROM, the option I get NFS image, HTTP,FTP, and HARDDISK. I change bios to boot from DVD-ROM, and DVD-ROM working fine. How to get install from DVD-ROM option.

Any suggestions

Is it a "live DVD"? Just boot off the DVD then once you're at the desktop screen, there should be an Install icon.

Might have to use command line boot options to force the cd to be seen. Otherwise it is a disk problem.
Might have to setup a nfs server. Knoppix terminal server is about the easiest live.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10

Redhat cd is brand new, but it could be defective you might be right, I try command line options like Linux mediacheck didn’t work, I thought of ftp or http but it will take long time and also I am not sure about the correct website to install from.
What you suggest? nfs server setup ? What are the steps? in my home network i have winxp prof and mac os 10.5.
the pc iam install linux does not have floppy drive to boot from disk.
