I am new to Linux. Just Installed REDhat 9.0 and then I downloaded the RPM files for apache, php and mysql. but now when I double click any of these files nothing happens..I even tried doing right click and install package...I am logged in as root and all these files are sitting in root directory.
Any Ideas??

Double-click!!! How about installing them from a terminal!

Click the RedHat, System Tools, Terminal.

Then, run this command (replace it with the actual name of each file!!!) at the prompt,

rpm -ivh filename.rpm

By the way, you can install those packages from the CDs so why would you want to download them and install them by hand!!!
