Can't browse the web

OS: Redhat 7.3
CPU/Ram: P 233 / 126 mb

I hooked up an external modem and and I can log on to the ISP but when I open up any browser, it can't browse any web pages. If I type any address at the address bar and try to open it up, It says that connecting to the server but does not do any thing.
What needs to be done ?

Did you add the DNS IP addresses of your ISP in the /etc/resolv.conf file ?
