Hi,
I'm using RedHat linux 8. Whenever i try to log on to GUI mode I get the following error:
'Your session only lasted less than 10 seconds. If you have not logged out yourself, this could
mean there is some installation problem or that
you may be out of disk space. Try logging in with one of the failsafe sessions to see if you can fix this problem.'
I have tried failsafe session unsuccesfully and also i'm not out of disk space either. I have dual booted with win 98 which i don't want to disturb. Please help.

Do you actually get a graphical login or is this a problem when running startx? You could try reconfiguring your X server...I think the command is redhat-config-xsetup.

If you are presented with a GUI login then your X is setup correctly.

Try creating a new user and logging in as them....or possibly select a different window manager (KDE, Gnome, Xfce etc)
