CPU/Ram: 486 DX 8MB and PIII 866
Model/Manufacturer: IBM HP, Self, Self

My system uses the motherboard d102 intel MB ,Pentium D 2.8 GHz 160 GB SATA HDD.

I am not able to install linux.

THe installation will e successfull but, it will not run from the install. What can be the reason

Always post the complete model number of any component you need help with!

If your SATA controller can be set to IDE compabibility mode in the BIOS the install may work.

If you go to intel.com, you can download a manual in the support section.

The HDD is SATA. But THata is not the cause, as i have tried to install Fedora 6 (Latest0, Fedora 4 .. which supports sATA.

THis pobelum is somehow related to this motherboard.
