I have Windows2000 pro and RH 8.0 dual boot. I set boot from RH8.0 as default. After I upgrade the Windows2000 pro to Windows2000 server, I cannot boot to RH8.0 because there is no boot option I can choose. please help.

My guess : reinstall lilo or whatever boot manager you had before upgrading.

Use the boot floppy you made during the
linux setup (yoiu did make one right?!?=o)
or the original installation CDs to boot
your linux install and reinstall lilo/grub .

You can make a generic Grub boot floppy that you can boot almost any operating system with provided you know the partition the operation system exists on. See the Grub website for instructions or Google 'Grub boot floppy'

i have found that in my multiple boot system, xp, 2000 server, and linux, anytime i reinstall anything windows (which i seem to do constantly), i have to reinstall linux to re-setup the multiple boot. because, by installing 2000 server you messed with the mbr, which is where your dual boot is (assuming you originally let linux put it there by default). by reinstalling linux, it will fix that situation, and you will have your dual boot back.
linux is so simple to install. do a new install, not an update. with the bootable linux cds, wipe out all the partitions where you had linux, let it format automatically, and do a new install, and make sure you pick the option to do the advanced configuration, so you can choose your dual boot and where you want to install linux.
i happen to have my 2 windows os's on one 40g hard drive, and linux on another 10g hard drive, but i don't think that's significant.
yes, a 10g hard drive, red hat 9, and everything installed ,for a server installation. so, for a former person with a problem i was reading, a 10g hard drive works!!!!

Reinstalling seems way over the top. All
you need to do is keep a boot disk for
linux handy, reinstall windoze, boot off
the floppy and then just run lilo (or
reinstall grub). Done in a jiffy!
