I have been using a 486sx2 @50 MHz with 16 MB
of RAM, a 341 MB HDD and a CD-ROM drive. Can it handle Linux? If so, which one, and where do I get it??

Yes there are many distributions of linux which are able to work on those configurations or even less.
Tiny linux is one of those: http://tiny.seul.org/en/

I like this site because they also have a big list of small applications which you can add after you have installed this small distribution.

You know one night Izz home
nothing better to do wazzzz
thinking (lighting, rain and of
course a jacobs ladder making blue
light reflect off the walls)
Ide do a experment,Ripped the ol
hdd out of me puter, put in a 425 mb
I got off e-bay Just wonted to see
how much of me mandrake 7.2 :)
(dam roof leaking) would work if I
left out a package or 2.
(windows shake now light flickers)..
so I boot her up auto partition and
she Figgures out. I can only put a 300mb
install AND !!!it picked whitch packages to use??????
mandrake must have some kind brain
on the install disk,I doent know if other distros do this or not but sure suprised the
h#$$ out of me!
Ass far as how fast it will work?
well me processor and mem a tad faster than
a 486 so I cant say about speed.

But all in all I have to give mandrake
high scores. In all Ive seen it do so far.
and I only used the 1st disk.

Buy the way ...she lived :)
