Comment:

I have a logitech quickcam 3000 pro on my compaq laptop with slackware 9 installed. Im trying to stream video onto the web. So i installed camserv. Everything seemed to install fine, the make, make install etc.. didnt cause any errors.

when i start camserv from the command line i get this http://s86939834.onlinehome.us/1.jpg

But when i connect to the webpage where im supposed to see the video on another machine with internet explorer it ask me to download it, thats weird... its supposed to display the html webpage *confused*.

and looking at the webpage itself on the laptop causes the browser to crash.

anyone know whats wrong?
any advice or tips would be great!!! since i've been trying to get this to work for over a week =X

Thanks
Laura

Hi Laura,

What browser are you using to retrieve the page? If it's not netscape or mozilla it probably can't handle the "streaming" GIF that camserv puts out, and you'll need to run a script on your html page to retrieve one frame at a time. I think a sample js page like this is included with the camserv distribution. Hope this helps.

Andy
