Comment:

I have installed a RH 8.0 on my system.
My system is connected to a Cable modem thru a Hub. My eth0 is configured to Automatically obtain IP address.. But at start up it the eth0 gives the following error
Determinig IP address to eth0 ... failed
I found the network card is identified and configured.
If anyone has come across this and found a solution kindly let me know.. and if you can get a solution it will be highly appreaciable.

Thanks

Vajee

You may want to try a manual connect.

>$ /sbin/dhcpcd -d -h eth0

see what happens. Also make sure you turn off firewall iptables and all that in SERVICES just to be sure that is not misconfigured and causing trouble.
