Hi I have connected my cable modem up to my linux distro (currently rh 7_1) and I notice the transfer speeds for loading pages as well as downloading is slower than it used to be with a modem.
Rather than use the drivers for my netgear network card (fa311) I let kudzu autodetect and setup Networking with DHCP.
I have checked the Cable-Modem howto for any special requirements for my ISP, but there are none.
What other things would I need to check to improve speeds?
I am browsing with lynx and have never seen it so slow.
