is it possible to unpack ubuntu's contents from the iso, burn that to a dvd.change the bios settings so it boots from cd/dvd, put it in the cd drive, then install it? earlier i burnt it to a dvd with nero using "burn as data disc" it comes up as one file so it didnt work. now will unpacking its contents and burning it to a dvd, be the same as burning the iso as an image to a dvd?
You don't have to burn it to a DVD, it will fit on a CD...& obviously burning a data disc is NOT the thing to do. You need to select "Burn Image to Disc".
The problem is you copied it. You have to convert it with Nero, ImgBurn or another burning program. It will definitely fit on a CDR. I recently downloaded it myself & burned it to a standard CDR using ImgBurn.
