btinternet adsl ???

does anyone have bt broadband working with redhat 8, I am using the alcatel speedtouch modem(adsl) I am new to linux, so any help on configuring this modem would be appreciated.

You can get more info on how to setup DSL with
Linux from www.tldp.org. Go to DOcumentation
and scroll down to section on DSL-HOWTO...

Except that in many cases, the modem used in the UK is the Speedtouch USB, which is only partially mentioned in the howto, and isn't really helpful.

Best thing to do is get yourself to these forums: http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/ and have a look in the Linux forum there.

In fact, the Howto is better than I thought, and it is worth reading the appendix where it talks specifically about the Speedtouch USB.
