During boot time I get this error
Bringing up Interface eth0 : [FAILED]

Due to this the boot time is unacceptably long. However the system boots fine and continues to run fine.

What is this error about and how do I resolve it ?

Thanks,

Anand

Sounds as if you have the network card set to dhcp. You need to change you ip address to a static one. Type in linuxconf in a terminal and then go to networking to ammend the problem
