Message: i just got an Eee PC linux laptop for my birthday
yesterday. I read the directions carefully before using it
and followed the guide step by step. it was working great
for all of a couple hours. it was a little slow so i figured i
should let it cool down, so (with the charger still
connected) i shut it down. when i tried to reboot it.. the
screen said "Starting system..." then the screen goes
black, then brightens up and keeps flashing, and
occasionally, a white x would appear in the middle of the
screen. i didnt do anything wrong with it. i was only using
it for two hours tops and i was especially careful with it.
can anybody help pleasE?

Since it is new try this maybe.

Others may have better solutions, also keep looking.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
