Booting RedHat 8.0 off CD-ROM

I have a RedHat 7.3 CD which I can boot from off of on my gateway computer. I downloaded RedHat 8.0 and when I try to boot off it, it doesn't work. When I put that same CD into one of my other computers it boots fine off of it. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what's going on there. You could make the linux boot disk. Did you check the MD5sums before burning the cd?

I had a similar problem and I found that my CD drive was set to master. By changing it to slave the cd install went fine. I only have a Hd and a cdrom each on their own IDE cables but the cdrom needed to be set to Slave. Hope that helps.

Okay, I figured out the problem... I put the CD-ROM from the computer that would boot the RedHat 8.0 CD onto the one that would only boot the RedHat 7.2 CD, then it booted the 8.0 CD fine.
