Hi, I've been having trouble booting from Fedora and Mandrake 10 installation cd's. Its a bit strange as the cd's are booting fine on one PC but fail to on the other. Other cd's (eg. XP or Redhat) boot fine on both machines. Any ideas what is going on? Thanks Rob

I've had the same problem with Mandrake 10. Disk 1 boots on one of my computers but not the other. Red Hat 9 will boot on either. I called up the Mandrake disk in windows, went to the DOS folder and made a boot floppy that will initiate the install.

I don't use Mandrake anymore but heard that you need to use the second CD to boot your PC and then put CD 1 in to install it!!! Or create a bootable floppy disk from the first CD...

That isn't true Taurus. I've only downloaded the first iso and it is bootable. If I try booting it in my main drive it fails. But if I used an external dvd drive it would boot right up. So as far as I can tell it has something to do with the cd/dvd drive your using.
