Comment:

The machine is running Limux 10.0 SuSE on single SATA 80GB on dual core system. It couldn't complete bootup after freezing from printing command.

Here's screen log:

Booting 'suse linux 10.0'

file system type is reiserfs, partition type 0x83
kernel /vmlinuz root :/dev/sda2 vga=0x31a selinux=0
resume =/dev/sda3 splash=silent show opts

I have no experience with linux sys at all, so please help me. Also I would like to clone a backup for this HDD when it is bootable, please instruct me how to.

This is the boot loader (grub) message. It is saying that well, it can't find a file.

You will have to learn up on Grub and how Suse 10 uses it. Search for "grub "error 15" "file not found" " and maybe even resume.

There are many ways to backup. Some people use dd netcat rsync partimage g4u g4l or commercial clone software.

download the iso, create a cd and boot from the cd. helped me out a few times. It's only like a 4mb download, so its worth a try.
