Hai,

I am having Win Xp and redhat 7.1 on my system. I am not using LILO, ( I installed LILO to /boot "not MBR" ). My default loader is windows. I used a command
"dd if=/dev/hda2 of=/bootsec.lnx bs=512 count=1"
and I copied that file to C: drive and added this line to boot.ini "c:\bootsec.lnx"="Linux", and its working fine, both Os are listed and worked fine.
but the problem is when I select linux lilo is coming on to screen and showing options
so I want to default load linux when I select linux from windows boot loader.

another is If i have not installed LILO then how can I boot linux (with out floppy)"should in the menu"

Please help me...............!

thank "Q"

It looks like you're using both bootloaders.
The XP bootloader loads lilo.

You'll have to edit /etc/lilo.conf and
set timeout=0 and default to linux.

save and run /sbin/lilo from the prompt

Oops,

left out something very important.

after running /sbin/lilo
you need to "dd if=bla bla..." again and copy it to
the root of Xp
