boot from usb cdrom problem

hi there,
i am trying to install linux in a sony labtop with an external cd-rom drive that should connect through a usb hub.
i tried getting into the bios of the computer to make it boot from a usb but there is no such an option!!!
please help me be a part of the linux environmnet by directing me of what should i do

try a boot flopy if you have a floppy drive
also try differnt distro
I found ubuntu fires perfectly off a usb cdrom so you can install it

thank you for your replay voldemort, but i really like fedora 4 and i dont know of any way to install it through a flobby disk.
