Comment: To install Mandrake 9.1 from a DVD, I can't find such a boot option in the bios set up. I have HD80G and have made a 20GB partition on my HD such that C is 60G and the new D: is 20G.
Note . Yes I can BOOT from A C and CD but not from the DVD ( label is F) Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction. Cheers Fred

Reply: (edit)Is your CD a DVD drive??? Change your BIOS to boot from CD first and insert MandrakeLinux DVD in the drive and boot from it... Otherwise, just create a bootable floppy disk (the image is on the DVD) and boot from it! taurus

Reply: (edit)Dear Taurus, thank you for suggestions. I HAVEN'T REPLIED EARLIER BECAUSE THE MANDRAKE DISK SUNK MY SYSTEM! I was trying to create a 20GB partition on my 80GB HD, but the options offered didn't seem acceptable. Then winme collapsed and after reformating I was left with a 50GB HD. Anyway my progs only occupy about 3GB so I won't even try to see where the other 30GB have gone. So anyway I'll forget about the mandrake version for a while as it really shook me seeing everything crash and the sweat to get going again. Cheers Fred Madrid
