I'm trying to install Red Hat 6.2 in my Compaq 486 DX (it's an oldie!). I have Windows 98, a 6Gb hard disk and 40Mb of RAM. I made one partition using FIPS, and since my computer does not boots from the CD I used RAWRITE and BOOT.IMG to create a bootable floppie (this stuff is provided in the CD, in DOSUTILS). At this far everything seems to be OK, but then when I try to boot my computer using the Linux bootable diskette created with RAWRITE, I just get this message: BOOT FAILED
What can be going wrong? I already used two new diskettes! Please help me to get Linux running in my computer,

I too am getting this message when trying to install 5.2. I get it when I first try to install Linux for the first time. I get the screen: "Loading initrd.img.....Boot Failed" This is a brand new disk, never used. Could my RHL be damaged too?
