Comment:

We just got some new game servers and I need help getting them optimized.

Here are the specs:

Inte Xeon X3220 Quad Core [4x2.4GHz, 2x4MB Cache]
2GB DDR2 667MHz ECC RAM
73GB SAS 15,000 RPM
Running Fedora Core 7

The game does not support multi-core CPU's.
Is there any way to bind the games process or PID to specific CPU cores to enhance performance?

Thanks,

Tony

I would doubt that any simple solution exists with a non-smp aware application.

Might look at a xen install to a processor. Not sure that would be worth any impovement. Not too many situations that really are helped because of improved of processing time. Most other areas are to blame.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
