How can I open .bin files? I have downloaded the StarOffice 6.0 Beta, and clicked on it, and it does not do anything. Help! Thanks,

try...

open terminal...
got to the directory where you downloaded the bin file.

type chmod 755
./

remember you should do this in an 'xterm' ie.. in a terminal window inside X.

if everything goes well, you will see a setup window just like you see in any "windows" application setup...

good luck

Yay, I got it to work. I found an easier way, just chmod the file, then click on it, that will let it run too, for anybody who runs into this problem in the future. Thanks!

Macbinary uses the suffix .bin. Macbinary files are a standard format for binary transfer of arbitrary Macintosh documents via a telecommunication link. You are more likely to run across Mac documents with the .bin suffix than anything else.
