Comment:

I need to install a Java runtime environment on my laptop running fedora. I download a bin file from their website. How do I install it? I know it's a binary file, but how do I open it. Please be specific, I am kinda new to linux.

Thanks

Dunno why my cut and paste isn't working.

Go to java.com and get rpm or use fedora's software manager get it. In almost all cases the distro oughtto be used to install apps.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
