I seem to have a lot of firewalls on my system (Mandrake 9): iptables is installed, shorewall, prelude and Bastille. But I dont know which one is really active? Shorewall seems to be started at boot but I did not have to do a setup, I might want to change the rules. I guess even if the iptables packages are installed, that doesn't mean it's active? Is there a GUI to configure iptables? Thanks

ive read about something called firestarter, but ive never tried it.
if youre interested in iptables check out the netfilter howto and www.linuxguruz.org. they have some nice example scripts there.

bastille and shorewall are just frontends to iptables, prelude is an IDS

I use firestarter - slick and simple. Also lets you see all the hits youur machine recieves and to what port.
