Dude..
Suse does not have a direct download of ISO.
You can either buy the CD, or install it through FTP. http://www.suse.com/us/private/download/suse_linux/index.htmlAlternatively you can install Lycoris. (www.lycoris.com)
It has an XP like desktop and very easy to install. You can download linux ISO at http://linuxiso.org

Well, all Linux distros have the "opportunity" to have the same driver database. They all have the options that come in the default kernel, and further more, they all have the option to apply certain "patches" for drivers. Just like the one for you that you have to apply. Lycoris is the same boat, but a supposedly a little more user friendly once you get things going. If you've got the bandwidth and the time, give a few of em a go, and see if any work better for you than the other.Good Luck, oh, and 1 more thing...
LQ really isn't that bad. It's a great place to learn things. I know sometimes people can seem a bit rude, but it's more seldom than you would think. Plus it's a whole lot easier to post there, and to browse the boards, and even to perform a good search. Take what was said with a grain of salt, and move on :)
Cool

MasterC, I had a look at that Lycorice thing. Kinda swanky, but I am not going to pay for something I can get for free.
I just DL'd the first ISO of RedHat 7.3 and am half way into ISO 2. All I want is minimal functionality so that I can experiment with Linux. Same thing as windows. Once you get it working, on the net, and drivers installed, its only a matter of time before you begin to explore. This process is limited and not very productive with any M$ OS...but I suspect Linux is not the same.
But I *must* reach a mimimum point before I can begin. Cant drive your new car without fuel...or tires...or a steering wheel.
If Redhat gives me a clean install, with the network connection and basic 800x600@16 Ill be happy.
Then the REAL fun can begin. As far as LQ, screw that. I equate it to things I see in online gaming. There is a VAST difference between a "newbie" and a "llama".
A newbie asks legit questions in an effort to understand and improve (this is to be commended)
A llama is just plain STUPID (and proud of it).
In a TFC game, the n00b Engineer asking "whats the best place to put my Sentry Gun?" is to be shown.
Hes trying, he wants to be a part of the game and the community. In time he can be a worthy addition, IF hes shown the ropes. It all may seem so incredibly simple to an advanced player, but proper SG placement is NOT IN THE MANUAL! YOU LEARN IT IN THE GAME!The LLAMA that asks "how to I throw grenades" should be kicked off the server. This douche didnt even read the manual, nor did he configure his settings. Hes probably on his moms AOL connection, has a 500ms ping, a 233mhz Win95 box, has more zits then friends, and will remain a virgin till he hits college. This person will never learn. He can never become part of the community. In fact, hes already downloaded wallhack and aimbot but they had a virus so he hadda reformat.
Now if I were a llama, would I have been able to get SuSE installed? Or on the 'net? Or have gotten thru KDE? Or Xfree setup? Prolly not.
If I were a llama I would tried, failed, then posted flames on how much linux sucked and all lunix users are h0m0.Life is too short to be around submorons. And the LQ crowd seems to be just that. Let them keep thier insular little club, and then wonder whu few people stick around.
They are in effect no better/different then the people/questions they "hate".Till then, Ill be downloading RedHat and cruising the other Linux forums :)
