I have got redhat9 installed on my machine. I wanna install BerkeleyDB from source. How can I check the version of berkeley Db installed and the path to its library

First find the package name, try:
$ rpm -qa | grep -i berkeley
It should come back with something like "BerkeleyDB-1.2.1". Well, there's your version number, to find the location of the files etc:
$ rpm -ql BerkeleyDB-1.2.1
