Does anybody know where I can lay my hands on a copy of BASKMARK's BASIC compiler. Their website is gone and their phone number disconnected
Decent Basic compilers are near impossible to find for Linux (Xbasic treats files like they are the OLD fashioned Mag Tape (those huge reels of yesteryear mainframe days).
As a result of this, I am in the throws of learning Borland Object Pascal: Delphi on MS Windows and Kylix on Linux. If you are just doing in house or personal stuff, or not for sale, then Kylix Open Edition is a good choice (Delphi Personal for Windows platforms). Kylix is touted as similar to Visual Basic.
Now all I need is a good Beginner's book, cause all these years of Basic has me thinking in Basic. [grin] My favorite Basic compiler for MSDOS is ZBASIC.
