Hi,

I am trying to set up a Backup MX. My main server is mainserver.com. I would like to add a secondary MX backupserver.com.

I know the DNS setting and I have added.

Just a question on Sendmail setup. My backupserver.com is running on Sendmail 8.12 on Fedora Core 1. What do I need to do to make sure backupserver.com will queue up the mail if mainserver.com is unavailable?

I read something online but don't understand as much.

1. Do I just add the file /etc/mail/relay.allow and with the line:
mainserver.com

2. Do I have to set anything for Hostname on backupserver.com?

3. If I want to change how frequently the backupserver.com try to send the messages back to mainserver.com. how do i do it?

thanks.
