Auto Detect Lan Cards? How?

I lost the configuration of my lan cards. When I installed the install program detected them automatically and knew what they were. Is there a way I can make Linux detect them again? "Search for new hardware" on bootup doesn't find them. Does Linux have anything like Windows "Detect New Hardware"? This is RedHat 7.2 Thanks mswarbrick@cox.net

kudzu is what finds them automatically. It sounds like linux believes they are still installed. You might try to vi /etc/sysconfig. It has all of your hardware configurations. I don't know what would happen if you see your nic cards there and you deleted them then rebooted. It might find them when Kudzu ran at startup. Do this at your own risk. There is probably a better way to do it but I am unsure of what it is.
