I have an ATI radeon 9800 Pro video card, and I was just wondering what kind of driver mandrake 10.1 installs by default. I was thinking about dl'ing and installing Point2Play and Cedega 4.2.1, so I'm just wondering if the driver installed by default in mandrake 10.1 is "enough" for games like vice city, or CS, or if I need to install x.org 6.8 or whatever it is, and install the newest ATI RPM from ati.com.

I don't think there are any 3D Acceleration enabled drivers for ATI cards, but wait till someone with more experience comes along.
Gigabyte K8NSNXP-939
Athlon 64 3500+

Corsair TwinX CMX512-3200XL
Gecube X800 XT Platinum
Seagate 200 Gig
Coolermaster Wavemaster Silver

ATI have good GNU/Linux support as d nvidia.
You can download 3D accelerated drivers from
here:

I haven't used ATI cards myself but many
people on this forum have had great success.

Yeah the OpenGL support in Mandrake is MESA and it is not sufficient. But I've had trouble installing the ATI drivers. Described at http://www.computing.net/linux/wwwboard/forum/27372.html
Thanks.
