ATI driver for Radeon 9000Pro

Got this card working with the latest driver (2.5.1) from ATI. However I cannot get the second monitor (via DVI port, through DVI-VGA adapter) to function independent. Using the fglrxconfig util it becomes either: no signal detected or an exact copy of the primary monitor.
Need two independed monitors.
XF86 output: No matching Device section for instance PCI:1:0:1 (this is indeed the second device). Adding a 'Section Device'... to the config file does not make a difference.

Any clues?
