I am trying to run windows media player files on linux, but haven't found plugins for it. I have tried crossover, but I couldn't get it to work (maybe because of plugger). Are there ways to play this format without installing windows programs with the use of Wine?

in a way you can with Mplayer at the prompt; mplayer -gui adres
expl.; mplayer -gui http://195.95.30.139/StuBru2
the "-gui" is not needed you can place it in a script if you like and the adres you find in the .asx(i think)
let us know if it works

Thanks for the info.
I have tried to install MPlayer but it won't start. I've installed the fonts and the mencoder and the mplayer. When I start the application, it starts for a while and then simply ends starting. I've tried playing a musicfile by opening it with mplayer (right mouse button) and that works, but when I use the command line to start a file with mplayer it doesn't start.
