Hey everybody.
I got the new Suse Linux 8.1 Professional. My problem is that the Apache server does not work. I have no idea what the problem is. When I try to start the server I got the message
"Starting httpd [ PHP4 ] ... failed". I don't know what could be configured wrong. The comanche program also doens't work. There I got the error message "Error in starting script..."

Please help. I don't know what to do. Thanks.

Reply:

try typing
/usr/sbin/apachectl configtest
it then checks the configfile on syntaxerrors. maybe it will show you where it goes wrong.

Maybe it's the php4 module, I don't know. canyou give more info?
