Failed to start apache : Starting httpd-perl: [ OK ] Starting httpd: [FAILED] [FAILED] [FAILED]
I looked in the error_log and i get the following error three times:
[Thu Jul 15 14:30:16 2004] [alert] (2)No such file or directory: getpwuid: couldn't determine user name from uid 4294967295, you probably need to modify the User directive

What did you use to edit the httpd.conf? If you used a standard text editor then that would be the problem. If you can telnet to the directory pico the .conf make a change of some type and save it. That should repair the problem. If not get a copy of the default .conf and start over.
